Memorise

Rehearse the technique demonstrated in the video until you know it off by heart. Aim to complete your palpation in 1-2 minutes.

Practice

Palpate as many wrists as possible to begin to detect variations and abnormalities.

Customise

Change the order if that suits you. Some people like to start away from the symptoms and vice versa. Some therapists do it exactly the same every time.

I'mĀ Karen Fitt

I am a Physiotherapist andĀ Accredited Hand Therapist (as awarded by the Australian Hand Therapy Association). Over the course of my 35 year private practice career, I built a hand therapy companyĀ and trained hundreds of early career therapists.

I have been presenting Assessment and Management of the Wrist (a two day course) for over a decade in Melbourne, Australia for the Australian Physiotherapy Association, the Australian Hand Therapy Association (6 years) and for Hand Faculty. I also teach the "hands and wrists" at University of Melbourne Physiotherapy School, and La Trobe University in Melbourne at the postgraduate level.

Hand therapy is my absolute passion and I love teaching and supporting early career therapists.
